Homemade tartar sauce is so easy to make that you’ll never want to buy it again. My Quick and Easy Tartar Sauce is the perfect combination of creamy, tangy, and citrus. It can be served on crab or fish cakes, as a dip, sandwich spread, or with any fish, seafood, or chicken.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tsp Dijon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp horseradish optional

Instructions

  • In a small bowl mix all ingredients together. The horseradish is optional and adds a spicy, tangy taste. Keep in a tightly sealed container for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
