Cranberry Orange Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) bag fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2 large navel oranges, juiced
  • Zest from 1 large navel orange
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • In a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat, bring the orange juice, water, and sugar to a boil stirring frequently with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon. Add the cranberries, orange zest, and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low, gently boil for 12 minutes stirring frequently until the cranberries burst open and the sauce thickens.
  • Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl. Cover with plastic and refrigerate until ready to serve. The Cranberry Orange Sauce will last for up to 10 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Notes

  • If the Cranberry Orange Sauce has been frozen, thaw in the refrigerator over night.
