Asian Ground Beef Bowls

Sauce:
- ⅔ cup Hoisin sauce
- ¼ cup Oyster sauce (substitute Hoisin if don't have)
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (¼ cup beef stock for a non alcohol substitute)
- ¼ cup dark soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp dark brown sugar or sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp white pepper
Meat stir fry:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1.5 lb ground beef
- 1 cup scallions, cut diagonally
Garnish:
- Scallions, cut diagonally
- Toasted sesame seeds
If serving with Jasmine, Basmati, cauliflower rice, or noodles, make according to the package instructions; set aside. Mix the sauce in a small bowl; set aside. Heat the oil in a large skillet, saute the onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic, cook another minute.
Add the ground beef, cook until no longer pink and drain off most of the grease. Add sauce and cook for about 2 minutes. Stir in scallions. Serve over rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and more scallions.
